A photography masterclass with Steve McCurry

November 20, 2012
by Steve McCurry
Internationally recognised as one of the finest image-makers of a generation, Steve McCurry began his extraordinary career over thirty years ago, smuggled into Afghanistan to cover the civil war. A recipient of the Robert Capa Gold Medal and an unprecedented four World Press Photo first prizes in a single year; many of McCurry's images have since become modern icons.

To coincide with the launch of his new book, The Iconic Photographs, published by Phaidon Press this autumn, Steve McCurry will be discussing his craft for one exclusive evening with Guardian and Observer journalist Sean O'Hagan. Through a mixture of presentation, interview and Q&A, he will offer insight into photojournalism and capturing the iconic image.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to hear first-hand from the master of evocative colour photography and get to grips with his techniques. Beautiful, uplifting and affecting, McCurry's images present fascinating stories of human experience.

Various ticket offers are available, including a copy of the book.
