Magnum photographers often complain that their AGM, which lasts four days, is more conducive to the business of photography, rather than photography itself. In response, Magnum has been organising an annual retreat for the past few years where work-in-progress is shown, book dummies presented, group projects discussed and photographers spend time schmoozing.
Thirty-five photographers, a few accompanied by their wives and companions, as well as a few staff attended the retreat 2018 in Wales, February 9 to 12. It was organised by the London VP Olivia Arthur and her companion Philip Ebeling. Their daughters Thea and Lorelei were a delight to those present.
