Dr. Madan Kataria created Laughter Yoga as a method of addressing stress, depression, and negativity. On assignment for the New York Times Magazine, Alec Soth traveled to Bangalore to photograph and practice this unique form of therapy. He noted: “It’s an incredibly thin line between laughter and crying. It just spontaneously happened then — it doesn’t happen anymore. I was just cracking open a new channel and other stuff pours out.”
