Raymond Depardon: Un moment si doux

November 1, 2017
by Raymond Depardon
A survey of Raymond Depardon's photography will go on display in Rio de Janerio, tracing the photographer's working relationship with colour photography.

After successful spells exhibiting at Le Grand Palais in Paris and at the MUCEM museum in Marseille, "Raymond Depardon: Un moment si doux" will next travel to the Cultural Center Banco do Brasil (CCBB), Rio de Janeiro.

Taking colour as its cue, the exhibition explores the photographer's work and life from the late 1950s to the present day. Wending through informative 'sweet' moments of the photojournalist's vast output, including his discovery of the medium and formative explorations to Africa, the exhibition will amass over 160 colour photographs spanning the length of Depardon's 60-year career, with many of the images previously unpublished. Unique to the exhibition, photographs journaling the CCBB's native Brazil will also go on display.

An exhibition organised by the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais in collaboration with Magnum Photos.
