Minnesota is home to the America's largest Somali community. Despite the recently popular anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric, female community leaders have found ways to maintain their religious identity while integrating into American society.
On assignment for Pacific Standard, Olivia Arthur photographed these women who defy religious, racial and gender prejudice.
