Barbican Centre, Silk Street
London
Join author Geoff Dyer and Magnum photographer Patrick Zachmann to discuss the power of photography to tell stories.
Magnum photographers have described themselves as an ‘idiosyncratic mix of journalist, artist and storyteller’ and over the last seventy years developed a mode of visual storytelling using their own visual style and voice to reflect on the world around them.
In this talk, author Geoff Dyer and Magnum photographers Patrick Zachmann and Matt Stuart explore the idea of the photographer as storyteller, reflecting photography’s power to narrate, suggest, inform, and connect.
This event is part of the <a href='https://www.barbican.org.uk/artgallery/series.asp?ID=1629' target='_blank'>Magnum Photos Now</a> talks programme at the Barbican Centre.
Tickets can be purchased from the Barbican Centre<a href="https://www.barbican.org.uk/artgallery/event-detail.asp?ID=21451"> here</a>.
