Feature - Turkish Justice March
Turkey’s main opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu (from the secular “Republican People’s Party” – CHP, created by Ataturk) is currently leading a ‘Justice March’ from the capital Ankara to Istanbul in order to protest the policies of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
This march is the first sign of a real opposition movement that can gather millions of people against Erdogan’s policies since the Gezi protests in 2013. The government is calling it unpatriotic and pro-Gulen.
The arrival of the march in Istanbul coincided with the first anniversary of the coup attempt of July 2016.
