On October 1st 2017, Stephen Paddock used 23 guns to fire more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition into a crown of 22,000 concert-goers from a room on the 32nd floor of Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay hotel and then took his own life. The attack was made at a distance of approximately 500 meters, resulted in 58 deaths and 546 injuries making it the deadliest mass shooting committed by a single person in US history. Paddock (64) had no criminal history and as of late-2017 investigators have still been unable to find any motive behind the attack.
