FRANCE. Paris. 10th March 2022. Archaeological excavations in the nave of Notre-Dame. Discovery of a lead sarcophagus probably dating from the 14th century and pieces of sculpture from the 13th century from the fall of the rood screen between the heart and the nave. These excavations are supervised by Christophe Besnier, archaeologist at INRAP, responsible for operations, and Dorothée Derieux of the DRAC, in charge of scientific and technical control.
