KDPI, the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, was founded in 1945 and is based in Iraqi Kurdistan after being banned from Iran. Like the other Iranian-Kurdish parties, its aim is self-determination of the Kurds. In 2022, the KDPI base was attacked by multiple times by missiles and drones from the Iranian regime after uprisings began in Iran following the killing of Kurdish-Iranian woman Masa Jina Amini.
