UKRAINE. Kyiv. 12 January 2023. Windows taped against the potential bomb explosion. It's been almost a year since the full scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The suburbs of Kyiv suffered from significant devastation of civilian infrastructure in the first phase of the war. Irpin, Hostomel and Bucha have become a symbol of brutal war crimes committed against civilians by the Russian soldiers. Ukrainians try to reorganize their lives after the withdrawal of the invading troops from the Kyiv region, but a large part of the destroyed residential districts, shopping centers and gas stations still remain abandoned and uninhabited. Many places have become the memorials of heavy fights and victories over the Russian army.
