INDIA. Bihar Province. November, 2010.
Villagers in Bihar Province, India's poorest state. One of the main reasons for Bihar's poverty is its history of social and political unrest. The state has a long legacy of caste-based discrimination and violence, which has hindered its social and economic progress. The lack of infrastructure and development in rural areas, where a large proportion of the population lives, has also contributed to the state's poverty. Additionally, Bihar has been plagued by corruption and political instability, which have hindered the implementation of development programs.
