USA. California. Felicity. October 17, 2019. Human migration has a very long history, with Homo erectus believed to have initiated early migrations out of Africa around 1.8 million years ago. This was followed around 60,000 to 70,000 years ago by significant migrations of anatomically modern humans, leading eventually to the global dispersal of human populations. The image shows a detail of a panel at the History of Humanity in Granite Museum in Felicity, California. Felicity is recognized by the state of California as the official Center of the World.
