BELGIUM. January 2, 2021. I spent the first days of this year with my mother peeling off the old flowered wallpaper in our family apartment at the Belgian coast. The apartment used to be of my grandmother who passed away last year. It’s been a special weekend, we had a beautiful last night among the outmoded furniture, while scratching off the old wallpaper we talked about our childhood, our shared past, slowly entering new beginnings.
