KENYA. The Pangani River is vital to the wildlife of Tanzania bringing much needed water to the dry plains. It also provides water for hydroelectric dams and irrigation for hard pressed farmers. Fed by the springs that flow from the base of Mount Kilimanjaro the river levels are falling, making these depth markers redundant today. 2004.
