Peter Marlow
G.B. ENGLAND. London. The regeneration of the London Docklands. The Royal Docks, the largest docks ever built by Man, are the next area to be developed. On the edge of the Enterprise zone, this will contain a STOL airport, which opens later in 1987. Closed less than five years ago the docks are reminiscent of an era gone by, trade and ships long since gone to the deeper water up river. Closed due to restrictive practices by the dockers, but also due to changing nature of the work caused by containerisation, all that are left are empty warehouses and abandoned cranes, creating a very spooly atmosphere. 1987.
