SYRIA. Derek. Rojava. Rosa Asvat, 22, from Al-Hasakah, at the Asayesh all-women Security Base in Derek. Rosa was wounded while in combat with ISIS.
"I was merely 5 meters away from the enemy. They were hiding so we did not see them. When they saw us, they jumped out and opened fire. I got shot in my arm. I kept on fighting with my wounded arm for another three hours. Then my comrades helped me get back. They took me to Turkey and then brought me here to Rojava to recuperate. I can't wait to get better so I can go back to the frontline."
