Destruction of the Saur Moglia memorial after intense fights between Ukrainian army and Pro-Russian forces. Saur-Mogila is a strategic height in the Donetsk ridge near the city of Snizhne, located about 5 km away from the border between Ukraine (Donetsk Oblast) and Russia (Rostov Oblast).?During the Eastern Front theatre of World War II, it was the focal point of intense fghting between Soviet troops and German forces. In 1963 a memorial complex was unveiled on the top of the hill to honor the fallen soldiers.
