Ukrainian Nationalist fighters: AZOV Battalion, DONBASS Battalion, PRAVY SEKTOR and civilians gather in Liberty square to celebrate the "Day of the Defenders of Ukraine". October 14th has been enacted as a Public Holiday since October 2014 by the President Porochenko. It replaces February 23 rd (Day of the "Red Army in the USSR). It is also the day that the Zaporozhye Cossacks were celebrating their Saint Patron, Virgin Mary (also called Theotokos). This enables to establish Ukrainian Nationalists a historical continuity with the Cossacks, who fought for two centuries against the Polish and the Russians.
