According to the UN, Abu Nuwar is located in the so-called E1 area, planned by Israel for the expansion of Ma’ale Adummim settlement, and is among 46 communities in the central West Bank, most of them Palestine refugee communities, slated for transfer to three designated sites away from their current location.
