The Turkish High Electoral Committee (YSK) ordered on Monday a new municipal election in Istanbul, in response to a request from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's party challenging the opposition's victory.

Just after the announcement, many angry Istanbuli challenged this news by banging in pots and taking the streets. After years of oppression, they are tired of being muzzled, they want to be finally able to express themselves.
