BRAZIL. 2019. The Kuikuru tribe is the biggest on the National Park of Xingú, a preserved island in the heart of the agro-business.
They hardly hunt and base their diet in what the Xingù rover provides. With the increase of intensive exploitation and monoculture farms around them, their river is polluted and they are having to adapt to a new environment they hardly control and understand.
The National park of Xingú has been threatened by fires since the beginning of the dry season again, with more and more acres swallowed by the neighbouring fazendas and the little protection that the government provides.
In the picture, portrait of Jocelma, 11. Her original name is Yamonoa Kuikuro. She has never left the village and is very curious to know what a city is like.
