Much of the coastal area of Mississippi was destroyed including downtown businesses, ports, marinas, boats, railroads, highways, and entire residential neighborhoods. Trees were snapped like tooth-picks and all homes on the beach area had completely disappeared. A lonely swan had taked refuge inland.
