UKRAINE. Kyiv. 2014. On February 22, when riot police withdrew from the Parliament Buildings and it was rumored President Viktor Yanukovych fled the country, protesters opened the gates of  his massive residence/compound. People came in the tens of thousands to photograph themselves there and witness the opulence of his domain which included a mansion, several houses, a private zoo and golf course. The self defense units protected buildings and grounds from vandalism and damage.
