PALESTINE. May 2002. Jenin Refugee Camp. Occupied West Bank. Residents of Jenin Refugee Camp chat in the rubble of their homes. Faces of houses in back was sheered open by Israeli military bulldozers during which time approximately 4000 residents were left homeless and at least 52 Palestinian combatants and civilians were killed. More than 140 homes were completely destroyed in the Hawashin district of the camp. A large number were also damaged beyond repair. Steel posts have been temporarily installed to hold up the second floor.
