NEPAL. Kathmandu. 2007. Devi SUNUWAR, the mother of Maina Sunuwar, a 15 year old girl who was abducted and tortured to death by government security forces. Maina was taken by government forces in february 2004, and not heard or seen from since. Her mother's persistent activism led to the body being exhumed.
Nepal has one of the world's highest numbers of people who were 'disappeared' at the hands of government security forces.
