Jonas Bendiksen
CANADA. Fort McMurray, Alberta. 2007. A homeless woman named Sally outside a Salvation Army shelter in Fort McMurray. Although an oil boom town, not everyone in Fort McMurray is a winner. Many people come to the city, attracted by the prospects of big money, fast. However, many are not prepared for the hard, solitary work and harsh conditions of the region, where winter temperatures drop to -50 celcius. There is a substantial homeless population in the city, who have fallen through the cracks, as well as substantial substance abuse.
