Many people come to the city, attracted by the prospects of big money, fast. However, many are not prepared for the hard, solitary work and harsh conditions of the region, where winter temperatures drop to -50 celcius. There is a substantial homeless population in the city, who have fallen through the cracks, as well as substantial substance abuse.
