She is a lifetime Reydarfjordur resident, along with her whole family. She was employee number six at the Alcoa Reydarfjordur project, and is now the CEO's personal assistant. Her husband Oscar works in the smelter pot-room. According to this family, the smelter breathed much-needed life into the community, and they doubt they would be unable to live there without the jobs the smelter provides. Before Alcoa set up the nearby smelter, Reydarfjordur was in slow but certain decline for many years.
