Jim Goldberg
Ukraine. 2007. Trafficked victim in winter. Translation: My name is Victor. I'm married and I am from (Ternopil) Ukraine. In 1999 my son was born and we had no place to live. My salary was $12 per month. I thought I had no choice but to go abroad. I was taken to a factory In Germany by a stranger who promised me (a good salary) $2500 per month, instead they took my passport and guards watched my every move. If I protested I was kicked and punched. I was scared. I realized I was sold. NO ONE HELPED ME. I prayed everyday to be back home. One night I jumped a fence and escaped. I am Ok now and work in construction. My dream is to go to America and live in Miami where it is warm.
