Soyapango. 1991. Families live in houses made of salvaged plastic in the San Salvador city dump. Residents of the dump salvaged tin, plastic, paper, steel and wood for resale. Some material is used to build their homes where they remain vulnerable to wind, rain and heat and have no running water nor electricity. Third World dumps remain the work and living sites of many of the world's poor.
