CHAD.Tibesti desert. The Affaire CLAUSTRE.
Francoise CLAUSTRE a prisoner of the FROLINAT (National Liberation Front of the Chad) for 17 months held captive awaiting the long negotiations between the French Government, and Mr Hissene HABRE, the Head of the Toubou rebel group, demanded in return for her freedom 10 million French francs in cash and the supply of various equipment. If these conditions were not reached before the 23rd September 1975, Mme Claustre would be executed. Since the 27th August 1975, the Toubous rebels are holding another hostage, her husband Mr CLAUSTRE, who secretly returned to the Tibesti in an attempt to find his wife.
