BELARUS. Minsk. Novinki Asylum. 2000. Two young boys find comfort in lying together in the summer sun. Novinki is a large asylum that houses more then 250 patients. Many children are given over to the staff at birth or during their first years. The staff can not give all the children the care they need. Many kids are mentally or physically handicapped and can be explosive and erratic.
