"The Victorian age lives on in Raj Bhavan, built for Bombay's British rulers and now home of P.C. Alexander, governor of the state of Maharashtra, and his wife, Askama. Worried by strains on city services from the swelling population, Alexander's government is transferring some staff offices to the satellite city of New Bombay, now taking shape 25 miles to the east."
National Geographic Magazine, Vol. 188, No. 3, March 1995, Bombay: India's Capital of Hope.
