The gate of Yamit, the Israeli settlement in the Sinai occupied territory which was the region in the north of the Sinai that the Israelis had captured from the Egyptians. In accordance with the April 82 peace agreements with Israel the land had to be returned and the settlements destroyed. This was the entrance to the Yamit settlement.
