Micha Bar-Am
ISRAEL. 1954. Kibbutz Degania Bet.
Three native Israelis (Sabra), symbolizing the hope of a new nation in which Jews would have more control of their destiny. All three eventually became officers in the army. One went into business management, a second became an industrial engineer. The one on the right was killed in the Six Day War, and buried beside his father, who had died defending Degania Bet Kibbutz in 1948.
