In front of the Cathedral. Celebrated every 7 years since the construction of the Cathedral (year 301), this ritual is one of the most important in the Armenian Church.
A mixture of 40 types of flowers and herbs mentioned in the bible, are distilled in water for three days, then added to purified olive oil and to the remaining Meron made by Grigor from the previous ceremony . Therefore the holiness and blessing from the first Meron is distilled into the new and distributed to Armenian and Orthodox churches worldwide.
