The Samouni's extended family, 97 people, were rounded up by the IDF during operation Cast Lead and all forced to stay in one building. Early in the morning of the following day the building was targeted by the Israeli air force, 21 people were killed and 42 injured. The IDF called it a closed military area and didn't allow help to reach the building for three days.
