FRANCE. Paris. October 1, 2008.
The Nobel Prize for Peace and former head of united nation UN Kofi Annan presented Thursday evening at the University Paris Descartes the new version of the 90s hit "Beds are Burning" of Midnight Oil, sung by fifty celebrities of music, cinema or fashion.
With Mélanie Laurent and Eric Serra, who both participated in the remake of the song and its video, Kofi Annan urged the younger generation to take up the issue of global warming, in preparation for the International Conference on subject to be held in Copenhagen (Denmark) in December.
"This 'post-Kyoto' is the last chance for the international community to make good decisions: we can and must make our voices heard," said Kofi Annan.
