IRAN. Tehran. Iranians talk about President Mahmoud AHMADINEJAD. The Mattress-maker: Ismael SURI, a teenage chum, volunteered for the war vs. Iraq. He now makes mattresses and eiderdowns in the same neighbourhood of Narmak where the President used to live in. He says : " Mahmoud was my best friend. We used to organise secret readings of the Koran under the Shah. When the Savak, the secret police, paid him a visit one night, Mahmoud fled and hid in the sewer until dawn."
