Distro - Ethel Kennedy: 1928-2024

Magnum Photographers

Ethel Kennedy (April 11, 1928 – October 10, 2024) was by her husband Robert F. Kennedy’s side when he was assassinated in Los Angeles in 1968, just hours after winning California’s Democratic presidential primary. She faced that devastating loss, along with the deaths of two of their sons, all while raising their children. In the years that followed, she remained steadfast in her commitment to social justice causes and preserving the Kennedy family’s legacy.
