President of Egypt Mohamed Morsi was overthrown by the military after four days of protests all over the country calling for Morsi's resignation, to which he did not respond. This was part of the Egyptian crisis which started with with the Egyptian revolution of 2011 and ended with the installation of a counterrevolutionary regime under the presidency of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in 2014.
