Rock and roll icon Tina Turner has died at the age of 83 after suffering from a long illness.

Rising to fame in the 1960s during her time as lead singer for the Ike and Tina Turner Review, her enormous stage presence and powerful vocal range lead to collaborations with major rock groups.
