In 1979, in reaction to the lack of interest shown by the State in its war heroes, Konstantin Dobrovolsky began to search for the remains of Soviet soldiers who died defending their homeland during the Second World War.

At that time the Soviet Union had lost 27 million lives, affecting almost every family. As the descendants of these soldiers - whether Russian, Ukrainian, or of another origin - die on a new front line in Ukraine, Dobrovolsky continues to dig up these bones to honor their memory.
