70 years ago this Sunday, April 12th, President Franklin D. Roosevelt died in while still in office. One of the most influential US Presidents, he was elected a record four times, holding this office for 12 years. In response to the Great Depression, FDR expanded the power of the federal government by introducing the New Deal. He then went on to lead the country during the Second World War.
