The typical Pakistani village of Pokal in the Allai Valley with around 80 homes, was hard hit in the 8 October South Asian Earthquake, one of thousands of such villages in the mountainous area of North Eastern Pakistan, where some 95% of the villages were completely flattened by the earthquake. Some from this region have gravitated to aid camps on lower ground while others residents have waited for assistance, hesitant to leave their homes reduced to rubble and the property they've called home.
