Kitchen debate between Nixon and Khrushchev.The 'Kitchen Debate' was a famous impromptu debate between then U.S. Vice President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev at the opening of the American National Exhibition in Moscow, on July 24, 1959.
An entire house, full of affordable consumer goods, was built as a propaganda tool to show the fruits of the American capitalist system and it was in the kitchen the discussion took place. The debate, which focused on the relative merits of capitalism and communism, helped cement Nixon's reputation as a statesman in the eyes of the US electorate....
