MAD TO THE MAX

Every year in October thousands of motor racing fans make the trip to Mount Panarama for the Bathurst V8 car races in N.S.W, Australia. Fans camp on top of the mountain and when the action on the real circuit cools down the spectators create their own forms of entertainment around makeshift muddy racetracks. Intoxicated by alcohol, revellers smash their own cars into trees and other vehicles until they are damaged beyond repair. The cars are then rolled and burnt in a sort of life ending ritual.
