On May 25th, George Floyd died in police custody after an arresting Minneapolis officer knelt on his neck for 8 minutes. The incident was recorded on video which was soon posted online, promting a renewed surge of Black Lives Matter activism. Since then, demonstrations have been staged in hundreds of cities in the US and overseas.
