Academy Award winning cinematographer, director and producer Haskell Wexler has passed away at the age of 93.
Wexler gained notoriety in the 1960's, during which time he worked as cinematographer on acclaimed films such as "America, America" (1963), "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" (1966), "In the Heat of the Night" (1967) and later on "Bound For Glory" (1976). Wexler also worked on documentary films throughout his career. In 1985 he directed "Latino", a war drama depicting the conflict in Nicaragua between the Sandinista government and US-backed Contras, which was chosen for the Cannes Film Festival....
