Consignment - Willy Ronis, 1910-2009 

French Photographer, Willy Ronis, died September 12th 2009. A contemporary of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau, Ronis was best known for his portrayals of life in post-war Paris and Provence, displaying a 'humanist' approach to photography. Born in Paris to refugee parents from the Ukraine and Lithuania, Ronis preferred photographic freedom to running his father's photography studio. He decided to close shop and joined Rapho agency in 1946.

President of Eyedea photo agency, Stephane Ledoux, told the AFP that Ronis died early Saturday in a Paris hospital after being on dialysis for some...
